Commodity Callout
Silver’s price hit another big surge, showing that there are still plenty of gains to be made even with the recent run-up.
Metal Price Update
Gold — Gold largely held in place around $4600 per ounce. The bull market has legs and traders continue to show their trust in it.
Silver — Silver saw a massive spike, starting the week just above $81 per ounce and moving well past $91 at one point before settling closer to $89. We aren’t even out of January and silver is proving to be a breakout investment star. This is one to keep adding because it still has plenty of runway ahead.
Copper — It was mostly a calm week for copper, starting the week just shy of $5.90 per pound and moving as high as $6.10 at one point before pulling back. It doesn’t have the big movements of gold or silver, but copper is still one to watch because of how central it is to industry.
Lithium Carbonate — Lithium continues its record-setting run. It started the week just under $21,800 per metric ton and ended around $22,800. This kind of fortune-making breakout shows that it pays to be prepared with the right investments and ignore the naysayers.
Uranium — Uranium mostly stayed in range. It started the week just under $83 per pound and ended around $83.40. This is the latest in a trend of steady momentum as opposed to the big bursts we’ve seen in other names, but news keeps coming showing that long-term support for uranium is justified.
Company Callout
Latin Metals (TSX-V: LMS)(OTC: LMSQF) is one company to look at to play the continuing commodity boom. This South American-focused company is a prospect generator, meaning that it forms joint partnerships where it explores and the partner company does the drilling.
It owns several assets with copper, gold, and silver, and some of those assets already have partners in place. The company is poised to spinout, with shareholders expected to receive exposure to projects based in Peru, adding value beyond what’s already there.
